Scouts ACT – Camp Cottermouth
The Jamboree on the Air-Jamboree on the Internet, the world’s largest Scout event, returns on 18-20 October 2024.
JOTA-JOTI is a travel-free Jamboree that fosters international friendship, promotes global citizenship, and teaches youth members about communications technologies.
Activities will take place at Camp Cottermouth and will be active across the weekend from 5:00PM Friday 18 October until 3:00PM Sunday 20 October.
Units are welcome to camp or attend as day visitors. Units planning to camp should organise their own campsite bookings and arrangements. This is the same weekend as the PACT Pioneering Camp – Units planning to attend both should register for JOTA-JOTI as day visitors, and will be able to attend JOTA-JOTI activities during breaks in the Pioneering camp or during the evening.
JOTA-JOTI activities will include:
- Radios – learn how radios work and speak to Scouts from around Australia
- Internet/international – chat with overseas Scouts and learn about international adventures
- 4WD team – learn how the 4WD Team can support your Unit on your next adventure
- Codes and signals – learn different methods to pass messages
- Battleships – practice your radio skills while
- Fox hunting – explore the campsite and find hidden radio transmitters
Please allow approximately 1 hour for each activity selected, plus time for breaks. The Radio Team will contact you in early October to confirm your activity program.
Units will be invoiced after the event – $5 for each day visitor, and $15 for each overnight camper, which covers activity fees and an event badge.
Registrations close Sunday 6 October. For more information visit https://www.scoutsact.com.au/jotajoti-2022.html or email rob.fredericksen@scoutsact.com.au
