Description:
We will be using the Huon District Scout call sign VK7HSD on HF & DMR. VHF & UHF will be used primarily to educate on Satellite operations along with making contacts via the International Space Station. As there are currently 8 Foundation licensed Scouts from both Cygnet & Huonville, it is anticipated to operate from 12 noon Saturday the 18th thru to 12 noon on Sun the 19th.
There will be as in the previous years, no JOTI facilities as the internet is freely available 24/7.
Huon District Scouts run a 16 week course every year for those wanting to gain the Foundation level license which has seen 27 youth aged from 10 to 17 years successfully gain their license over the past 5 years.
We hope to make contact during the event & encourage surrounding groups / individuals to stop by to participate in lots of FUN activities planned.
